Photography how much is v tight gel Mizruchi openly admires this postwar elite and argues that its decline “has played a major role in the crisis of twenty-first century American democracy.” That argument is a nice antidote to this country’s historical amnesia, particularly when it comes to relations between the private sector and the state. What is less clear is whether, as Mizruchi hopes, that productive postwar relationship among business, government, and society can be recreated today. One reason to be pessimistic is that the current arrangement, notwithstanding the author’s protestations to the contrary, is serving America’s business elites remarkably well.
