The Czech had not worked in the upper reaches of the game since retiring. He preferred to concentrate on his academy in Florida, whiling away his ample spare time on the golf course. Unlike most of those involved in coaching, he certainly didn’t need the money (that gilded career had left him with enough to buy one of the largest mansions on Florida’s gulf coast). But Murray’s position fascinated him: he saw so much of himself in the brutally ambitious Scot, he really felt he might be able to make a difference.
