Tom O’Brien has enjoyed a 30-year international career as a technology professional for some of the world’s leading consultancies, a sector that has attracted many of Northern Ireland’s brightest brains. Now dividing his time between Cheshire and Belfast and running his own business, Solomon Group, he says: “There are a lot of Northern Irish people who have been very successful in business globally, and it makes perfect sense not only to bring their connections and knowledge to bear, but also to encourage them to champion Northern Ireland. Historically, we have not been very good at selling ourselves, but there is now so much leading-edge technology coming out of Northern Ireland that I think that is finally changing.”
