Weird and creepy is pretty much what's on offer in The Canyons, but not so much of either that it gets interesting. This is a film about the sad, shallow lives of twentysomething, disaffected Hollywood climbers. Porn star James Deen plays Christian, a rich kid; he's involved in making a movie. Lohan is Tara, his current girlfriend. Then we meet Christian's assistant Gina, who is working on the movie Christian is making, and Gina's boyfriend, Ryan (Nolan Funk) who's the lead in that same movie.
