At the Frankfurt show, BMW reinforced its commitment to the future of electric and hybrid cars. Or more like staking a claim in the present and now, with global launches for the i3 electric  to be available only in select global cities (no plans for Dubai at the moment)  and the i8 hybrid supercar, which can throw up 400-hp and costs a cool 130,000 euros for the pleasure. Expect the i8 to make it here by mid next year. (But high-performance car fanatics can get a look-in at the Dubai Motor Show in November.)
