Royal Mail shares are set to jump on the first day. Questor thinks this is a good opportunity to bank some gains given the prospect of strike action on the horizon. Long term the investment looks good, but the share price could be very volatile over the next two years, until post restructuring earnings and profits stabilise, and relations with the unions as a listed company settle down. Royal Mail is still an interesting income stock and long term investment, at around 350p per share. Anything above that and we are getting into the realms of irrational exuberance.
