But when the industry finally collapsed early in the last century, Frome Silk Mill went through a sad decline, being used as a storeroom and jobbing engineering works before falling apart. Damon Moore, a poet, and his wife, Kate, a teacher, stumbled upon it 30 years after it closed down altogether.
